Huh?

Greenlight the Bombers were a swell rock band from the San Francisco bay area way back in yesteryear. They were also once known as SixtyFootTime.

Paul has moved to Austin and is now in We'll Go Machete and Rossi Mission. John is playing in Spider Meow and also did some time with Damon and the Heathens. Shannon and Craig played in Black Ghost for a while. Hurry Up Shotgun is Craig's new band. Sons of Oswald is Shannon's new band with Andy from Lower 48. Todd occassionally joins Replicator for a live show here and there, including this one with David Yow.

"From Oakland California, Greenlight the Bombers bestow to us a one smokin EP. "American Executive" rocks relentlessly straight through 12 minutes of blazing guitars, amazing Albini-esque bass lines, and cymbal cracking fury drums. This EP holds its own among up and coming regurge of "retro" rock bands milking the early-mid 90’s sound for influence, this reminds us of not only some greats like Drive Like Jehu, Shellac, & Fugazi but GTB will have produced their own future niche if they keep it up, and they should." - CrookedCamera.net
"It's reassuring when a band can take the usual post-punk tools and still construct a compelling sound. Greenlight the Bombers manage just that. Fugazi is the most obvious antecedent ( although maybe that's just the vocals ), but that sound's been stripped down a bit and made meaner and harder." - Rex Reason, Punk Planet issue #66
"From the streets of SF comes this powerhouse of a rock outfit. Tighter than a squadron of B-52s in formation, Greenlight the Bombers deliver five tracks of seamless post-hardcore with angular guitar lines, loud-to-quiet dynamics and sinister basslines in the classic vein of bands like Drive Like Jehu, Quicksand, Fugazi and Shellac. Title track "American Executive" is a stand-out with a wickedly haunting vocal chant over menacing bass and drums that kicks into a solid heavy churn before dissipating into some sparse June of 44 type spaciness and then coming back with the rock in the end. Definitely one of the better new upcoming bands in this city, and do these guys have the coolest band name or what?" - #16 on Elliot's top twenty releases of 2004, Aquarius Records
"This post-hardcore group from Oakland, California blends guitar- driven rock with the righteousness of punk. Vocalist Paul Warner paints a grim picture with his groaning voice and heartfelt lyrics. With a lot of energy and good pacing, American Executive rocks as hard as any hardcore album–it's just a little more world-weary and reflective, and... mature. Reminds me of both the Pixies and Desert City Soundtrack–an aggressive, sensitive, unique sound." - JR, IMPACT Press
"It’s a nice change of pace to hear a band that’s not following the mold. I have nightmares of hearing another new pop–emo-screamo release. Maybe if I were 15 and never used drugs I would dig that stuff, but I’m 30 and have done all kinds. Greenlight the Bombers play good indie noise rock. You can hear influences of bands such as Fugazi, Drive like Jehu / Hot Snakes, but done in their own unique blend. The disc starts with a song called “Satchel” and immediately the band locks you in a trance with the open riff, and the 15-minute journey of American Executive EP begins. One moment Greenlight the Bombers are spewing out aggression, and the next moment they have you locked in a more laid back rhythm. The vocalist, Paul, sings from the gut and delivers the lyrics with lots of emotion—pissed off emotion that is. The guitar riffs seem to have a mind of their own but they always lead you back to the meat and potatoes of the song when the time is right. A great debut CD from this local Oakland outfit." - Remy Armstrong, Zero Magazine
"A new one from Oakland. Immediately calls to mind DRIVE LIKE JEHU & their driving brand of rock beat. But listen further & you’ll hear enough changes to keep you into it all the way through. Nods to FUGAZI & DILUTE. This is a band to watch for sure." - (LD), AMP Magazine
"Oakland's Greenlight the Bombers are back, and that's good news. They returned to the scene in December - after almost a yearlong hiatus while guitarist Todd toured the world as the drum tech for the Donnas - as a powerful band just hitting their peak. Featuring an awesome new bass player, Greenlight ( once known as Sixty Foot Time ) bring their concise brand of noisy rock music to the Tenderloin once more. So in case you blew it and missed their incendiary set at the Hemlock Tavern with Lower Forty-Eight last month, you've got another chance - definately a don't miss for fans of the Helmet/Drive Like Jehu/Fugazi/Jesus Lizard axis of rock and roll. Also playing are Los Angeles's two-drummer, Monorchid-style, garage-noise rock outfit Manifolds and manic, political post-punk locals 24K Gold." -Conan Neutron, SF Bay Guardian 1/04
"Top Down and the Radio On: Ten local bands to rock your sweaty, sticky, sometimes-foggy East Bay summer... Greenlight the Bombers - This foursome has been playing its post-hardcore balls off in and around the East Bay, but the local press has yet to notice. The music is hard, tight, and powerful -- influenced by Helmet in vocals and rhythm, with rolling basslines and stops and starts that nod to a jazzier Jesus Lizard. Though not exactly innovative, it's a refreshing alternative to the other brands of punk that have sprung from the East Bay -- the power-pop glee of Green Day or flat-out dirty punk rock of the Burnt Ramen scene." -Katy St. Clair, East Bay Express
"At the Stork Club in Oakland , where I run a Wednesday Night show, I found a great band called, Greenlight the Bombers, (previously called Sixtyfoot time). All I can say is these guys play hard , fast , extremely tight, evil music. I immediately set them for a few other shows, including Jan 31st at Burnt Ramen with Diesto from Portland. At that show Greenlight the Bombers was even better than at the Stork. Hoarfrost opened the show (great young death, thrash punk) followed by Diesto who also played the night before at the Stork. Diesto is a great band, hard, fast Unsane -ish. Then, Greenlight the Bombers took the stage. All through their set , the road manager for Diesto kept saying to me, "Where did you get this band!". I just kept smiling and saying, they just showed up at the Stork one day. haha. Well, after Greenlight, there was more. The Mass hit the stage and wow! These guys are so fucking good. They play everything including alto sax. Hard , heavy, doom with tight "real" jazz. After this show Diesto said, "I thought we had been playing with good bands on this tour but tonight, these were some of the best bands I'd ever seen" -John the Baker, 100 Punks! scene report
"If you like Fugazi and the Jesus Lizard, you'll love this post-punk band from San Francisco. Their hard driving and intense songs make them the best math-core band on the internet." -Cynthia Kravetz, riffage.com
